THE PROGRAM
THE PROGRAM
Seminar on Creating Sophisticated Textures, Shapes and Volumes in Fashion
In this 30-hour program, each student gets to choose one character (a creature) from a movie, a book, poetry, music, personal imagination etc., and will start developing a construction that is being worked on in each class.
In every session, a couture technique is introduced to the students that can evolve their project until the end of the program, when they get to present their work to the school. Students will be also introduced to fashion pioneers who embrace this approach in their work, so they get to have a 360 point of view of how those elements are being used in the industry and start to understand how they could include those elements even in ready to wear collections in their future careers.
The seminar includes advanced moullage, texture creation, shape construction and work based on unconventional materials.
At the end of the program, students will present their avant-garde creature creation, alongside with a pret a porter version of it that includes one (or more) techniques taught, in a smaller, more commercial and understandable form.
The seminar is aimed at students, graduates, or individuals with experience in pattern-making or tailoring who wish to be introduced to haute couture and clothing manufacturing techniques.
