Visit to the Mentis–Antonopoulos Passementerie (NΕMA)

PANSiK students visited the Mentis–Antonopoulos Textile Factory (NΕMA), a unique historic site that is now a branch of the Benaki Museum.

NIMA is a living museum dedicated to the art of textile and silk production, where old machinery, looms, and techniques used for over a century are preserved.
During their visit, the students had the opportunity to see up close the facility and the old machines that continue to operate to this day, keeping an important Greek technical tradition alive.

At the same time, they spoke in person with Mr. Menti, who explained the history of the craft and the importance of preserving this art for future generations.
